The summer season has begun. We've had the first real holiday periods. In the Netherlands, we were confronted with massive crowds at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, causing many customers delays and even some missed flights.
We've had a number of conversations with several organisations to solve these issues. Through the media, we've made clear our standpoint: customers should experience minimal disruptions; cancelling flights or delaying sales is not an option; and we are working with several partners to relieve pressure on the airport, for example by rerouting some flights.
Week upon week, we see a fairly stable demand for holidays to almost all of our destinations. At the same time, energy prices are rising, mainly due to the extremely distressing and uncertain situation in Ukraine. I understand this will affect profitability. Let's continue our good habit of having a solid dialogue with you, our valued partners, to assess how we can best tackle this – for this summer and the next.
We value our partners' opinions, in particular on how you view our collaboration. In order to further improve, or initiate changes, we'll soon undertake a baseline measurement through a partner survey.
